Kenji Ouellet, musician, media artist, and performer, has developed a performance series around the sense of touch in which the audience experiences a series of simultaneous sensory perceptions. The performances are created on the bodies of spectators, who become at once the instrument and the performance space.
Pièce touchée no 2 kicks off with a purely haptic choreography that goes on to explore how sound, music, and language can be interpreted through the medium of touch. Klangkörper radicalizes the experience of synesthesia, combining a choreography that plays as much on sound as on touch, and builds interplay between hearing and touch.
Both pieces are produced directly on the bodies of audience members who are blindfolded for a total sensory immersion experience written on the body.
