Multidisciplinary Theatre
An old classroom filled with scattered, random objects. A bell rings, and a teacher appears, instructing the audience to open their books. The lesson begins. Progressively breaking with academic conventions and regulations, the performance unfolds, introducing the audience to the character of the Young Woman through a sort of guided reading of the course textbook, inspired by Premiers matériaux pour une théorie de la Jeune-fille by the Tiqqun collective. Sound poetry, songs, sculpture, lessons by an extraordinary ballet instructor, and music by a string quartet help forge this fragmented symbolic portrait of the Young Woman presented by Bureau de l’APA and its collaborators from various artistic disciplines. A fabulous, unruly collage that is sure to engage the audience.
